lalalibertine's list
Had a few people asking what my fav products are so I’ve put together a list of Lalalibertine’s top rated shit!
Beauty
lips – I wear Nivea lip balm in Strawberry everyday, it soothes chapped lips and has the great red colour of a regular lipstick. Right now I think dark lips are right on trend, so I use Lancome Color Fever Gloss in “Piha Black” over the top of everything.
eyes – I’m not that fussy when it comes to eye makeup. Estee Lauder eye pencil is amazing, but I also buy a lot of cheap black eye pencils and liquid eyeliner because I go through it so quickly. Mascara I use Estee Lauder MagnaScopic, it gives you amazing volume.
skincare – Again I usually use Estee Lauder Day for moisturiser and cleanser. You get so many samples when you buy something I have ended up with a cupboard of millions of little Estee Lauder bottles. Idealist is their most amazing product. It’s kind of pricey ($90 a bottle or so) but your skin feels unbelievably amazing afterwards, you have no idea!
nails – Love Chanel. Whenever Chanel releases a new nail colour, just go out and buy it because everyone else will be wearing it in a few months.
fragrance – Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche
*Tip* Beauty products are so much cheaper in the States, so if you’re planning a trip anytime soon stock up then. Chanel lippies are around $20 a pop as opposed to the $50 they cost here.
Fashion
shopping – I shop online mostly because it’s easy and I can spend as long as I want mulling over my would be purchases. It’s hardly the height of fashion but once every six months or so I get a lot stuff from Forever21 because it’s so cheap. I stock up on basic t-shirts and jeans, plus a few pieces of jewellery and quick fashion fixes that will look great but wont necessarily stand the test of time.
shoes – LOVE Louboutin obviously, but as they are an occasional purchase due to my limited funds I get cheap fashion fixes from Rubi or Payless and the rest from www.solestruck.com where they have a great range of Jeffrey Campbells.
label – Balmain, Alexander McQueen, Jason Wu, Ellery
Icons
edie sedgewick – love her super dark eyes and the enormous earrings
dianne kruger – this girl can’t put a foot wrong

Disappointed!
So I came across a Facebook page for Aussie company Lara Inc that offered the 1000th person to “like” them a backstage pass to fashion week, I was number 1000 and even though I contacted them to enquire they never came through. Their page said this:
Be the 1000th person to like our facebook page and we will take you behind the scenes of one of the biggest shows at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia which we are producing for a back.stage.view of the backstage buzz!
Had I genuinely misunderstood the competition (which could have been the case) or had someone else won prior to me (I suppose they could have reached 1000 and then had people un-like them, so I might have thought I’d won when someone else had really beaten me to the punch) BUT not once has anyone contacted me to confirm or clarify any of this. This is not an appropriate way to do business or to market themselves.
I might not be of much consequence yet, but I have an amazing memory. And I’ve been watching Revenge.
